This thing is amazing! One of my top 3 colors. I have been checking for one to get on reverb for a while but just couldn't drop the kind of money that people have been asking. This was an easy buy.

I pulled the trigger on one of these...I’d never stop kicking myself if I missed out. I’ve already been reading up on mods to fix the crappy intonation. ...now the wait begins.

I've got a VM VI with a 9.5" radius Mustang bridge. No intonation issues with LaBella flats or Newtone rounds. I think the crappy intonation everyone is talking about comes mostly from the stupid stock strings.Floorboardinit wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 11:01 pmI pulled the trigger on one of these...I’d never stop kicking myself if I missed out. That actually makes sense to me. I’ve got a classic vibe strat that I was knocked out with the build quality. There’s just alotta bad press on this model in particular.Zork wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 12:27 amI've got a VM VI with a 9.5" radius Mustang bridge. I got in on this one. I'm thinking about upgrading with gold H/W. That'd look classy with shell pink, right?

Just jumped on the bandwagon myself.
I’ve always loved the Bass VI and came to terms with the fact that I’ll never own a vintage model or a custom shop model, let alone one in a custom color with a matching headstock and so this ticked all the boxes.

These are so cool! Really couldn’t resist getting a Shell Pink Bass VI. I went ahead & preordered one from CME tonight. Only thing I would change out is the pickguard for a Mint Green one.

Re: Squier CV Bass VI Shell Pink
I would buy this in a heartbeat if I hadn't spent so much time and effort modding my black VI already. The pink is definitely far more interesting. I'm kinda burnt out on black guitars and basses. I have 4.
Also, I just realized that the VI has always had proper blocks that stay the same width down in the low frets. Why do they insist on doing the stupid non-Fender-style blocks on the CV Jaguar that go from narrow to wide? Someone at Fender clearly understands that the blocks should be equal width (since they are, on the VI), and the Indonesian factory that makes CVs obviously has no issues obtaining or cutting the right kind of blocks.

Re: Squier CV Bass VI Shell Pink
Well shit I had 2 beers too much and preordered one, too.
But man I don't have a VI here so I "need" one, too.
And they won't be getting any cheaper over time, you'll see...

Re: Squier CV Bass VI Shell Pink
that's dope! hopefully it means Squier will whip up a batch in the usual colors too and continue the model for a while longer ... although an exclusive run in Sherwood would absolutely slay

Just now getting my sunburst VM VI upgraded and in order, but a Sherwood with matching headstock would slay indeed. Or any Fender blue/green color.

Re: Squier CV Bass VI Shell Pink
After some consideration and inspiration from comments in this thread, I've decided not to pre-order the shell pink Bass VI. The shell pink is outstanding but over the winter, I refinished my old used American Standard Jazz Bass in shell pink (and swapped out the stock neck and put on a maple Vintera neck). It's my "Space Madness" themed bass.
So I think I'd like to go with another color finish. What I think I'll do instead is to be on the lookout for a used white, sunburst, or black Bass VI and make it a refinish project - body & matching headstock. I'm leaning toward Lake Placid Blue or Surf Green.
FWIW, re: Indian Laurel fretboard - I wipedown the frets with boiled linseed oil to rehydrate the fretboard. Looks as lovely as my rosewood fretboards.
Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to seeing all the NGD posts with these cool shell pink Bass VI!

How much do these things typically weigh? Jags are usually between 8 and 9 pounds. Is this even heavier?
