13.5 - 62, interesting. I was planning to get a set of EXL 157s which are similar gauges. I’ll keep the VI thing for a bit but I did intend to set it up as a baritone originally.

How do you feel it works as a baritone?

FYI: I had a set of EXL 157s on my VM VI, and the lightest string wasn't long enough. I don't know if they've made them longer since then (about two years ago). I haven't tried a new set on my pink CV VI yet (I got Stringjoys instead, as they assured me their strings are long enough for the VI).

I got one from Anderton’s, pre-ordered in December and just arrived last week. Came in like 3 days once it shipped, which was very impressive. Looks like their current ship date right now is Friday.

Yeah they ship over here. Came out a a smidge cheaper for me than CME would have too.

$569 + tax shipped at CME vs 449lbs (~$600ish + shipping)? They also have more stock due this week at Andertons...

All in, Anderton’s was $607 for me, so saved me about $20 (though sales tax is high where I live). Shipping was £58.

Finally got the strings last week, will put them on next weekend, since apparently I need to be careful to not just snip them to length etc.

Newtones? I just cut them as I would with any other type of string. Not much else you can do with vintage-style tuners. Worked fine and sounds great. Did have to enlarge the E and A slots on the nut a bit though.

I am in the minority but I hated the labella flats. So dull to My ears that pulled them off and put back on the fender 250s that I wasn’t crazy about.

I was going to order the newtones but figured I’d try the labella nickel/round set (the cme exclusive: “Chicago style”) will put them on this weekend hopefully.

I opted to return/exchange the one I received in December (no major concerns but there were some scratches and chips to the finish and CME offered to send out a replacement).

They originally said the next batch would be arriving in February but just reached out to confirm they received them today and that they’ll be shipping them out soon in case anyone else got an order in during that window before the date switched to October.

Well for starters, Squier Indonesia may have used Pepto-Bismol as their reference rather than the Shell Pink used by Squier China:
