I got one a few months ago and swapped all the parts and put gold parts on it. I had a gold mastery kit and a bunch of gold control plates originally for a blonde jaguar I was putting together but decided to ditch that project because I ended up picking up a very clean limited japan blonde jaguar with gold hardware

The original hardware was pretty good actually. I know most people don't like gold hardware so I don't share it a whole lot. It's a great guitar though. It's light weight and the neck is perfect for me.
That thing is unbelievably gorgeous :w00t:

Is the nut width on the specs accurate? I'd consider grabbing one if it had a more traditional width... :shifty:

I've never seen gold Mastery hardware before. That looks fantastic, especially the contrasting metals on the bridge.

Question for Snarf: is it actually LPB like the Marr or Classic 60s Jags, or is it lighter and more turquoise in the flesh?
could be somewhere in between. Not quite as dark as the marr, but not as light as the 50th aniv. jaguar

only because you asked 8)

I highly recommend it at the price point in this market. Looks like 40mm at the nut.

At first I didn't like the mixed metals but then I realized I would never be able to find gold claws so it would always be mixed... so its a feature now

I'm down with Fender Japan as long as they don't go back to glossy orange necks.

The 40mm nut is a bit of a bummer. But if anyone finds a shop that will ship to North America, please let me know.

Thanks for the info on the colour. As you can tell, I'm thinking of buying one of these because I'm kicking myself at missing out on the LPB Classic 60s. I was wondering what the pick ups are like? The say they have been revamped so I'm wondering how they compare to AV65 or AVRI pups. Any info would be gratefully received!

Are these worth the 50% price premium over the Vintera Jaguar?

I'm also debating the same thing. On paper I don't think they can be. I just think Fender Japan prices have steadily increased over time, maybe due to labour costs?

I've had Japanese jags previously and they've been nice, but it used to be a given that the pickups, electronics and trem were always highlighted as low quality. It sounds like they might be upping quality in those areas though.

Save the pau ferro neck, I can't see the vintera being a significant drop in quality over one of these. Every Mexican Fender I've had has been at least the equal of any Fender Japan I've had. 7.25 radius on the vintera though versus 9.5 here, which will matter to some.

Trying to stick it out for next year, where I hope to see various anniversary models in all ranges released. Fingers crossed!

Vintera series is a SLAM DUNK. Vintera strat is one of my favorites and the olympic white vintera jazzmaster is great. It's probably not worth the extra dough if you like OTM or 3TS for finishes.

The LBP and matching headstock was worth it for me, but I had a vision of what I wanted and had to mod it quite a bit to get it there. I do like the neck on the Japanese LBP a lot more than the Vintera though.

Oh yes!
This with a proper (Spitfire or similar nice) Tortoise Guard and I‘d be very happy with it!
Also the price is interesting compared to the current Mij/Cij used prices...

:? :? :? :? :? :?

How much in import charges on top of shipping could one expect if they bought this from Reverb to have it come to the UK?

One of my dream axes right there.

I take it back. These Japanese Traditional Jazzmasters and Jaguars are a SLAM DUNK. Mine sounds so good. The neck is perfect and the body is light weight and resonant. Can't go wrong with one of these.
