Are Johnny Marr Jags getting rare now?
Seems like there are hardly any showing up used in the usual places, and what few there are, they are highly priced.

Wouldn't say they are rare, but they are getting harder to find on the cheap. Just basic supply and demand.audiopablo wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 9:51 amSeems like there are hardly any showing up used in the usual places, and what few there are, they are highly priced.

Seems to be the general trend for anything right now, especially offsets, unfortunately. I did hear rumor that the JM Jag was being discontinued though, someone here on the forum not too long ago? Not sure if that's accurate but if so, people very well may have trouble finding them for the prices they used to go for. I suppose you could say that about most guitars right now, especially jags and jazzmasters though.audiopablo wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 9:51 amSeems like there are hardly any showing up used in the usual places, and what few there are, they are highly priced.

All USA Fenders are harder to find now due to production delays (COVID). It's a bad time to buy anything because the prices have gone up due to the shortage. I wouldn't buy any guitars until next year. The prices should stabilize by then.

There's at least 4 or 5 on FB marketplace in the UK as of right now. There always seems to be a few there these days

Wouldn’t surprise me if they discontinued them. They have had the same two colors offered on them for years now. I know they did some cool limited color runs, but why keep the stock color option the same for SO LONG? I was ready to buy either a marr jag or American pro jag but some of the prices are higher or as much as the mod shop jag I’m looking to buy. I will go mod shop and pick my color, neck, pickups, etc!

I think the big MSRP price increase had a big impact.

Re: Are Johnny Marr Jags getting rare now?
Try finding an AO Jazzmaster right now. It's not a good time if you're in the market for a specific model beyond the core lines (Performer, Pro). All the guitar makers basically can't make enough guitars to keep up with demand. I think if you want to order something that's not in stock at your dealer it's 9-12 month wait right now.
So something pretty niche like a signature model Jaguar isn't likely to be on their A list priority for production at the moment.

Here I was thinking "FINALLY a Sherwood Green Jaguar" and after years of searching I've never seen one show up in my neck of the woods. Then check Reverb and see the only green JM Jaguar sold in the past year and a half went for over 3K dollars
