More adventures! Here's a IBM AO body with a metallic blue powdercoated guard. It looks less matchy than this from certain angles.

It's obvious you are resurrecting old threads with blazé comments in order to reach the classified section.

May I ask how you went about finding a colour match or was it just good guess work? Looks amazing! Did you diy or get someone to do it for you?

I've got an IBM Vintera with the matching headstock which I'm looking to upgrade the electronics and pickups sometime soon and thinking I might treat her to a new pickguard as well. The number of colour possibilities powder coating opens up seems crazy. May I aslo ask how you find the powdercoating holds up against say standard anodized scratchplates if you've had one for reference?

According to their profile they’ve had an account here since 2017, so I don’t think that’s what is happening. More likely just bored with some end of the year downtime.

Only 14 posts in 5 years also tells me that they didn’t join to make friends. I’m surprised they remember what password they used.

What I usually do is start with a painted body and then order a bunch of free color swatches from prismatic and find the one that is the closest. I then send the pickguard to a place a found online to coat it. Powdercoating is a way more durable finish than anodizing. A lot of industrial and exterior metals are finished with powdercoating. Plus if you choose a glossy option, it's way shinier. :)

Is this a trick question? I try not to, but I'm glad that you appreciate the aesthetic choices. :)

That's badass! Have any suggestions for powdercoaters you use? I'm in the US, and would love to send some prop replicas (SW blaster and lightsaber replicas mostly) out, but maybe some guitar bits too?

Plus this is hardly a necro post.

At the time they had posted to multiple old threads within the space of 20 minutes with comments such as "Lookin' good" etc.

bobafettlives then sent me a PM explaining that they were trying to race to the Classifieds, explained they weren't aware they were doing anything wrong and apologised.

Sorry if I came across a bit too stern, in future I'll leave it.

Thanks for the tip, opens up a lot more colour possibilities as I'm keen to have a metal pickguard. The power in my old Welsh cottage is so noisy! Interesting to hear how durable it is compared to anodised as well.
