Congratulations on the new guitar - it looks like a stunner. Would be great to see it alongside your new sunburst Jazzmaster. I'm really impressed with Kinko - Kaz and the team there are fantastic and really go the extra mile. Hoping to make the pilgrimage to Kyoto one day - would love to spend some time (and money) whilst there!
Thanks!

Absolutely will do that 😃

And yes, Kaz and Kinko music have been brilliant! One of the best (if not THE best) purchasing experiences I’ve had.

Just checked the tracking and it’s already in the U.K. - so hopefully it’ll be with me a little earlier than expected!
That's amazing news. Could I ask what the price, shipped to you was?

Cheers! :)

Here’s a quick price breakdown:

Guitar: 155,000JPY
DHL Express Shipping: 21,630JPY
Paypal Fee: 6,600JPY

So total amount I paid to Kinko was 183,230JPY - which worked out at £1009.79 from my card (I used a card that allows me to buy in different currencies at the exchange rate without any of the usual inflate rates/fees)

Then there were VAT/Custom fees etc, which I’ve already paid DHL (£202.99)

So all in, it’s cost me £1212.78 - which is a little bit less than the standard MIJ Traditional Late 60s Jazzmasters are going for in the U.K. (although a little bit more than I paid for my sunburst - £1199).

Thank you for that. Appreciate the break down. That's less than I paid for both my Jazzmaster HH and IBM Jaguar recently. Both purchased in the UK from dealers. Very interesting indeed. I guess the savings aren't dramatic but it's the ability to access the cool stuff for the same money which is significant here.

Can't wait to see the SG JM.

Yeah, that was pretty much my takeaway from it, and the fact Kaz/Kinko made it so easy to order. I’d definitely order from them again.

And definitely helps if you have a card that will charge you the real currency exchange rates - PayPal wanted to charge me around £50 more than I actually paid!

^ A mutual acquaintance just got the Fiesta red jag and i had a quick close up look (didn’t want to get too touchy as i barely know the guy) but am surprised that there isnt much more interest for these.

Fiesta red matching headstock, alder body, medium jumbo frets, mint guard and pure vintage 65 pickups at around USD1,000 before shipping + taxes etc.

Apparently there are less than 30 or something made according to what the sales staff told him.

Those are both amazing. I wish they didn’t have the super skinny nut width though ):

Heritage 60s Jazzmaster in Black

Just announced Heritage 60s Jazzmaster in black with matching headstock, 7.25” radius, vintage frets, C Neck, Alder body and Nitro finish!

Another new month and another new offset with matching headstock from Fender Japan! I think this must be the 15th or so in the last 12-18 months!

Fender Japan Heritage Collection Official Shop Announcement

BTW I was in the Flagship store a few weeks ago and they had the upcoming Heritage 60s Jazzmaster in Sonic Blue with matching headstock on display too, but this just came out of nowhere and seems to be part of a Flagship Store/Fender Japan Online/Mikki Gakki exclusive collection.

Apart from them now getting exclusive collections, would
definitely advise anyone going to Tokyo to check the store out, they are basically trying to offer an Apple store experience and there are like loads of headphone amps and seats to try whatever you want - literally just pull anything off the walls and try it at your own leisure. Most stores in Tokyo still don’t allow unsupervised touching and often cap testing to 10-15 minutes depending on their mood.

One thing that is interesting is they have the “Made in Japan” sticker on the pickguard with description in English, and I think they mostly do that when the particular model is made available to stockists outside of Japan.

Love the OTM! Good thing it's 12" to match the TOM, nothing worse than when Fender insists on putting TOM bridges on 9.5" radius necks :fp:

I believe that’s ‘vintage correct’ on black headstock guitars. Sometimes the Fender logo is more central as a result.
