Good to know. I'm considering one for my lefty Jazzmaster and I'd hate for it to not fit/be misshaped etc.. The Dark burgundy tort he does is really spot on and looks so close to vintage fender tort, its very impressive.

Wondering about the shaping on the lower horn of this guard? Is it just the angle or does it seem slightly off?
Look where the body meets the neck. Seems like the body itself was reshaped in that area.

Ah yeah - 100% the body not the guard!
I found the body severely over sanded in that area on the lower horn and around the neck pocket. I repaired the neck pocket area by adding wood and rerouting but I didn’t mess with the horn. The picture angle makes it look super extreme!

I’ll add to this; all the screw holes lined up perfectly on my AV65 too, with both my guards. Basically, buy with confidence.

Ah yes! Sorry, hope I didn't cause any offence, I can totally see the reshaping there now! Think i'll be going for one of these then! Cheers

Great to know, hopefully he has templates for lefty MIJ?

I’m sure if you asked specifically then he can do it. Anyone with google could to be fair.

Update! All change. The warping bugged me a bit. Spoke to Paul about whether hairdryer and weighting might sort it, and we decided that a new one made more sense. Went for the slightly brighter red of the mid 60s guards. Absolutely delighted with it.

I ended up with the one that got replaced thanks to Gav here and holy fuckin crap it is seriously perfect. It looks even better than the 65 guard on my Jaguar, just beyond impressive, beautiful work being done here.

Hi is Lavaguards still trading? The website has said ‘orders on hold due to workshop relocation” for quite sometime. I sent a message via the website asking when he would be taking orders again but no response 😟

Looks like he's sold the last of his stock. There were a few for sale when I checked a couple of months ago (I want one for my Japanese Jag) but nothing at the moment. Hope he comes back online!

So, Lavaguards AND Faction are exiting the game?

So sad. I wanted to order some brushed Jaguar plates again from Faction, but alas…

Yeah, there were some plates I was eventually looking to get... I hope that everything's OK for both, even if they're quitting.

Where did you see they were quitting? Just because he’s on a hiatus doesn’t mean he’s quitting. I play music at events. Sometimes once a month. This year it’s only been once every 6 months. He very well could just be working when he wants. Just slowed down to accommodate my other life goals. I don’t think we should assume he quit. He’s successful. He may or may not resume when he wants to
