And I was hoping for a "seventies Jazzmaster" in the same spirit as the CV70 Jaguar...

Fuck that looks so sick come on!
I’d like to see a Jag Stang. Wouldn’t buy one probably but it would be cool to see. Maybe if it came in black?

What we need is a Classic Vibe Starcaster Bass and Classic Vibe Meteora Bass and Guitar, with matching headstocks since plain headstocks are a mistake.
But the covered humbucker on the LPB CV Strat is downright bizarre. That's the sort of thing they'd do in a Vintage Modified model, not Classic Vibe. No 60s CV Strat should EVER have a humbucker, let alone a covered one. If they are going to do that, then they should put two point trems on them and large headstocks. Their new 70th Anniversary Strats, which come in very traditional finishes, have two point trems. That'll make purists furious. Fender is making it up as they go along.

The one time I could see myself grabbing a brand new Strat and it has that tiny, non-CBS headstock.

Seeing how things have been going for the last few years, maybe we'll finally see the first $1k Squier?

If this is all there is then my hopes of the Venus finally being reissued have been dashed again.
Hey we have one of those for erhm, $800 over here on CL. It looks pretty cool, I love the black. Seems overpriced, but still cool.

Well, the anniversary ones from a couple of years ago ended up being a major sales (and QC) failure, and quickly.ended up being reduced to normal Squier prices, similar to the Classic Vibes.
So I think we're not quite there yet.

There's a couple on Fleabay on this side of the pond with starting bids of £750, so about $950, one of them has been relisted about a dozen times. I'm tempted to ask for a discount for
the way it's been strung, just the emotional distress.
They're weird, they
are cool, but they're not £750 cool.

But there is also a Sherwood Green Tele with Matching Headstock and a Neck Humbucker
I really like this.
I'd like it even more if it was a Jazzmaster. Swap out the 'bucker for an instant bootleg Paul Dempsey signature JM.

I was keen for a recent Squier SH Offset Tele, but they were hard to find and only came in colours that weren't on my radar, and refinishing is such a nuisance. So I built a partscaster (Tele body) from a colour I wanted. Otherwise that would be an excellent option.

Another really nice new squier tele this year.
Double bound oxblood with gold hardware.
Love this one and I typically don’t like gold hardware but it works here.

Not the point, exactly, but the tort on all of these looks better than anything the Custom Shop is putting out right now.

oh way ahead of you. me and my bandmate got so bored of waiting for more 70's style offsets, we built our own.
i made it like a blackguard jazzmaster but also stained it red because my friend had a stained red ash tele that looked dope.
if there was a thinline jazzblaster.
