It was a hard choice between the LPB and the Shell Pink. After much deliberation, I ordered the LPB today!
Good choice. LPB is beautiful on any offset, but with the matching headstock and B&B, it's just perfect on a VI.

I'm really a Bass VI enthusiast and I'm a sucker for LPB Fenders. So with every FSR color they came up I was like "nice but y u no LPB?". Now that they did it I'm surprised I don't like it all that much - at least in the pictures. The shade is kind of too blue for my taste. I wonder if the hue is more on the greened or washed out end of the spectrum in real life? Can't wait for the first actual photos. The BB&B neck is spectacular, though. Would be cool if the offered these as replacement parts...

Yeah, I’m no LPB expert but doesn’t it seem to be a lack of sparkle? Like the blue is too deep?

The people on here that bought the JMs in LPB got some good pictures though, seems to come alive in the right light.

It's probably the photo. Those blueburst Jaguars looked weird in the original photo that was posted, IIRC, but ended up looking just like the USA-made FSR JM in that colour.

I also think that we're used to seeing aged/yellowed LPB. The original was quite deep and vivid, but even by '93 when my Jag was made, they were doing "OLB" - Old Lake Placid Blue, which was partway to being OTM.

Squier's defintion of LPB is definitely a bit off... my FSR Mustang is more a IBM or so instead of LPB ::)

The red one is 100% my cup of tea. Too bad it's a CME exclusive (I'm from Spain). If it was in Thomann I would buy one.

Really like the LPB Bass VI! Not sure I need another Bass VI thought, I have a mid 90s MIJ Sunburst Fender, a Black Squier, a Shell Pink Squier & a Gretsch Duane Eddy. Plus, I have a USACG Bass VI neck for a future build. Definitely heavy on the Bass VIs… :)

But what sounds better than four Bass VI?

...six Bass VI :P

neato! that walnut/maple BBB is the most attractive VI i've seen since the original Fender VI.

forgive my ignorance (or lack of search initiative :D ), but how do these compare to Squier VM, or other (Japanese?) VI's?

i have not pursued this instrument in recent years, as i always had an OG Fender VI that i could borrow. agree with so many on this thread.... perhaps it's time for one of my own!

I’ve only played the Classic Vibe, but I think in general the whole CV series is viewed as a step up from the VM. I really like mine (I have the shell pink). It sounds good and plays really well and it doesn’t feel like a drastic drop in quality from my MIM Fenders. My biggest complaint is that the painted headstock feels like it has a thinner and less glossy finish than the body. But overall it’s a solid instrument and feels worth the price.

That said, I love both of these new colors even more than the pink and I’m trying to decide if I’m crazy to want to sell and pick up one of these instead…

I like the VM much better.
Rosewood boards, medium jumbo frets.vs laurel and tall narrow frets.

Whatever the metal is on the CV saddles, to my ears the stock style VM bridges resonate more pleasantly when unplugged.
Moot point because a vi needs a staytrem cv or vm.

Cv has a nicer neck tint and a nicer water slide.
It has nicer tort on the guards.

The bodies are Basswood on the vm, poplar on the cv.

The pickups are very similar.

Everything else is pretty much identical.

They’re very similar but for some of us the necks are a night and day difference and enough to be a deciding factor.

With the Bass VI so popular these days, do you think we'll see an AVRI-type USA release ever?

Idk I would love it tho, I was hoping the 60th anniversary would’ve given an excuse for an American or Mexican run..a nitro shot rosewood vintage fret AVRI would be amazing, I wouldn’t even complain about the price that would be 2k$ well spent, but I’d settle for a Pau ferro mim.

Idk it’s been since that pawn shop abomination, before that the 90s mij. With the exception of the 2012ish jdm mij run they don’t really seem to have much interest in giving a fender branded VI to the rest of the world without paying custom shop money.

Would be nice!!!
