Wide Range is what I was considering when I thought I might hold on to the guitar, and Railhammers look pretty cool - not sure if you tried them somewhere before?

I actually had a Railhammer in it at first! That sounded pretty good to be honest. Maybe I'll dig it back out
Damn there's a lot of options

Re: Musicmaster PIckup Dilemma
I love Dynasonic pickups and TV Jones' version of them, T-Armond pickups. I had considered getting a set for my 2015 Gretsch G6196T-59 Vintage Select ’59 Country Club last year. Since I've become partial to quiet pickups (no 60 cycle hum) thanks to you guys here on OSG, Mike (Embenny) recommended to me at that time to try a set of TV Jones Magna'Tron pickups - hum-cancelling but retaining all the tonal qualities of Dynasonic and T-Armond pickups.
I'm super glad I took his advice - these are fantastic pickups that have that single-coil clarity and chimey goodness.
Highly recommend giving the Magna'Tron a try.

I’ve had a set of those some years back. It’s a really great pickup. I loved them. Very single coil like without the hum.Surfysonic wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 12:12 pmI love Dynasonic pickups and TV Jones' version of them, T-Armond pickups. More recently I got into those reissue Wide Range CuNiFe’s and I have to wonder if those were Tom’s inspiration behind the Magna’Tron? Very similar tones.
A Wide Range might look a bit obnoxious in that Musicmaster idk? But a Magna’Tron would look really cool with that black body and white guard imho.
