Why is it a 64 with the binding? Either way that thing is fucking awesome as fuck, seriously killer color and the binding and stuff, it’s really doing it for me. Never seen that color before I don’t think but wish I had, it’s just great.

Thanks dude. Have to confess to being slightly unsure why it qualifies as a '64. From what I understand there was a transition to 3-ply pickguards and plastic facedots (these are micarta white) so I guess that might explain it. The neck is definitely from another realm - bindings didn't appear until 1965 from what I understand.Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 5:29 pmWhy is it a 64 with the binding? There's a brand new one available at Coda Music in the UK (identical spec). Hope someone snaps that up!

From the looks of the thread, we all are - goddamn there are some super pretty Jags landing in the forum over the last week or two, and as a longterm Jag player (it always ends up being the thing that gets 90% of my playing time) this pleases me. Especially when they're blue, because you know, blue is the best colour and kinda fits the original surf vibe intent of the Jag.

Congrats, that looks stunning. I had a FCS '56 strat in the same color, and imo, it is the one of the most pleasing blue colors that Fender offers. Doesn't always come across on pictures though, as it often looks much grayer than it actually is.
