Wow they used full sized pots!?

I’m also suprised they used their 30$ jazzmaster knobs on a squier.
But did they?

This was the only pic of the set screw area on the knobs that I was able to find, half expecting to not find a set screw at all but that they're a push-on copy of witch hats.

However, is it me or is the set screw by the '1' instead of in the in the middle of the '1' and '10'?

Well that, and also the numbers are upside down as compared to Fender Pure Vintage knobs.

Oh, yeah. They're using amp knobs.

Haha good work gentlemen!
This makes a lot more sense…

I was mindfucked about that from the first promo shot. They charge 30+ for these knobs and then they’re putting them on a 400$ squier.

Still, I think it’s kinda cool they did something a little different and didn’t just throw white strat knobs on them.
Amp knobs kinda make sense with these lines loosely taking inspiration from the old pawn shop series and doing the ‘little bit of this, little bit of that’ design for them.

OK, this is sort of fascinating to me now. The Alternate Reality XII used black versions of these same knobs. Set screw at 1, reverse number orientation to the vintage JM knobs.

It never dawned on me that they were an unusual variation.

Kinda surprised they didn't just used knurled pots with these.

Someone in the Jazzmaster XII thread discovered if you go the Fender's website and set the region to "Americas" you'll find an extra color for each of the new Paranormal models.
They are Fiesta Red, Sapphire Blue Transparent, Shell Pink, and Blue Sparkle.

Love the idea of the Stratosonic, gives a real "Gibson in a Fender body" vibe similar to the Toronado. If not for the damned narrow tall frets I'd pull the trigger.

Interesting. Judging by that photo they're actually closer in colour to 'real' vintage witch hat knobs (they're actually WHITE) compared to the Fender 'pure vintage' repros.

Also, they are not Fender amp knobs - those have a dished, shiny chrome/chrome-alike insert without any text (no 'VOL' or 'TONE') and to my knowledge have only ever been available in black.

Little things like those knobs annoy the hell outta me. It takes all of two seconds to notice the numbers are upside down but somehow they still haven't switched them around. All the cheap knock-offs are wrong too.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

What I'd love is for Gibson to just make their guitars in nice colours like that translucent blue. Then we wouldn't need to buy Squiers and Epiphones just to get a Gibson that looks interesting.

I agree man, I am a big fan of that trans sapphire blue.

I’m eternally kicking myself in the ass for not buying a lee ranaldo jm when they were for sale. I didn’t come to appreciate the ‘blaster’ layout til many years later.

They actually just released a Les classic in ‘chicago blue’ a few months ago, which is Probably the closest thing to fenders trans blue. It’s a guitar center exclusive, not sure how many they’re going to make. They look really nice.

And in true Gibson fashion it’s being completely ignored with the 47366363th lemon burst reissue being released at the same time and getting all the attention.
