I'd try something like an Xotic EP booster run in 18v mode - have it on at a lowish setting all the time to give the Jaguar a bit more kick. Makes a nice alternative to a compressor.welshywelsh wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 7:36 amI absolutely love my Marr, I find it my most inspiring guitar to play, but it does struggle in a band setting next to a baritone, so I've been using my Jazzmaster instead. I'd guess that's the low output pickups as mentioned - I'm playing through a Pro Reverb.
Johnny Marr Jaguar owners...question.

I use the tape saturation side of my Strymon Deco in a similar way with my JM Jag.spindizzy wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 12:34 amI'd try something like an Xotic EP booster run in 18v mode - have it on at a lowish setting all the time to give the Jaguar a bit more kick. Re: Johnny Marr Jaguar owners...question.
I did have a Xotic EP Booster, but for whatever reason, I found it muddied my setup a little, even with trying the different dip switch combinations.
I'm using a 29 Pedals EUNA now which I love and I push the low end of the Jag, but it still struggles. I've moved the pickups closer to the strings so they're 2.5mm away at bridge and 3mm away at neck to see if that helps.

Re: Johnny Marr Jaguar owners...question.
According to Fender recommendations, the pickups should be 2.4mm away from the string on the low E and 2mm away on the high E (this is while fretting the string at the 22nd fret, of course). Try that and then move them further away (or closer) if you don't like the sound. I actually move mine a little closer on Jags (to about 2mm on the low E and 1.5mm on the high E) because I get more clarity and articulation that way. Just don't move them too close or you'll get wolf notes and other unpleasantness.welshywelsh wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 12:16 amI've moved the pickups closer to the strings so they're 2.5mm away at bridge and 3mm away at neck to see if that helps.
