OSG March Madness II: Final
The round you've all been waiting for, and this time I've managed to at least start it in March. As with previous finals, I'll keep the voting open for a full week to allow as many people as possible to vote.
We've got a great final lined up, and I'm really struggling to choose my own favourite. Both finalists are very OSG guitars: both custom colour Fender offsets with matching headstocks. It's a battle of Jaguar v Jazzmaster, LPB v BMM, dots v blocks, tort v white pickguard. I have a feeling this will be a close one.
As it's the final, let's have a look back at how they got here:
Neither of our finalists received byes, so both entered in round one. smjenkins' Jaguar was pitted against MayTheFuzzBeWithYou's silver Jazzmaster, prevailing 19-11 in a matchup that would have made a worthy final in its own right.
Not to be outdone by smjenkins' Jazzmaster slaying, gishuk's Jazzmaster dispatched ThePearDream's white Jaguar by a 21-8 margin.
It's worth noting that our finalists were the two highest scoring entries in round one, perhaps hinting at what was to come later.
On to round two, where they found themselves in separate polls against new entrants. The Jaguar chalked up a commanding 27-7 win over enricosonic's black Rickenbacker.
In the other poll, the Jazzmaster managed a similarly impressive 22-7 win against sal paradise's Tele.
Once again, these were the two biggest wins in their respective halves of the draw.
The quarter finals continued this trend, with anim's competition red Mustang and GreenKnee's Jaguar dispatched 26-6 and 23-11 respectively - for the third time in a row the two biggest wins of the round - despite the cool cat memorabilia in both opponents photos:
Then, in the round that just finished, both of our finalists surged into and held onto strong leads; 28-10 against tribi9's Guyatone for smjenkins
and 24-14 against caples' Mustang for gishuk.

You know what our finalists look like by now, but for one last time:
In the blue corner, smjenkins' Jaguar:
and in the burgundy corner, gishuk's Jazzmaster:
Good luck to both!

Probably the most perfect final to date for me
Can they both win?
Can they both win?
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

I was also rooting for the Guyatone. Two excellent choices in the final though.

I'm very biased and I still had a hard time choosing. I freaking love that JM. Those clay dots make me swoon.

I was selling it and then came back to my senses. So i took the ad down. Since, It has moved to my # 1 spot. I love the pickups, the super low action, colour and everything about it. I think it's even cooler than any of the Yamaha SG- 2's and 3 variations.
Anyhow, imgbb compresses pictures, but Reverb doesn't so if you want to see some really good, or better pictures i guess..Check this old Reverb listing and no it's not for sale for anyone wondering
Congrats to the two finalists. Awesome guitars. Hard to pick a winner.

Congratulations smjenkins: OSG March Madness II Champion
Sorry for taking a while to get around to posting this, I've been a bit whacked out by COVID.
Congratulations to smjenkins' Jaguar! A 30-10 victory in the end makes it our second OSG champion! Commiserations to gishuk, but well done on a great run to the final.
As usual I've had great fun running this, and either of our eventual finalists (plus quite a few others) would have made worthy winners.
I'll organise another of these in a few months. I'm thinking perhaps an acoustic competition?

Congrats to gishuk on a well earned silver medal. I have great respect for the first Pumpkins album too. Excellent choice of a handle.
Thank you for running this Stephen. These brackets have been some of the most fun threads on the site in the last year.
