oh wow what a sexy guitar! what's that color called?
As weird as it sounds... Silver. Always looked like a blueish slate grey on Fender's website, as actually like a warmer inca silver in person. And it started to age into a greenish gold metallic. Never understood why. But I like how it turned out!

Nice. Where’d you get that pick guard?
Pickguardian. It's clear that's been rear-painted like on Ricks, but now with finish evolving into gold as well... I miss the contrast it previously offered.

That's how mine started, but only the body is original by now.

But otherwise, nice and fun guitar, and you don't need to be a kid to enjoy it.
That's an Aluminati bridge right? I have thought of these with mini humbuckers, not sure visually how that could look though!

It is! And I think mini HBs would be great... I actually considered them. But I still have a vague project in the back of my head that would have a triple Firebird pickup setup, that may or may not happen someday; but for that one, I think I'd go for a Squier Mustang, as they have a pool route.

Do you find the bridge makes much of a difference?

Not really, sound-wise. But it's extremely cooler than a basic bridge. One day, maybe, I'll change it to a Stetsbar, the only upgrade I'd do to this guitar.

A big box was on my porch today with this inside. It's got crazy light strings on it and they're quite long in the tooth, plus intonation is way off so I haven't even plugged it in.

I'm digging the P-90s, particularly the bridge and neck/bridge combo. The only letdown is the neck. Not a deal breaker but I'm already thinking about other possibilities.

While I was checking out guitars for one of my kids, I stumbled on these MIM Mustangs with P-90s. Just online, haven't played or even held one.

Anybody here have experience with one? I sold a Yamaha SGV with P-90s and kinda miss the pickups.
these are just duo sonics but yeah, they play nice
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Still bugs me that they didn’t go with Duo Sonic II for these.

I'd solve two issues and source a vintage Duo Sonic neck but they're an even shorter scale aren't they?
