NGD : Fender American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster All Mahogany

Post by pikmin » Mon Feb 06, 2023 5:11 am

So I did it ! When the acoustasonic guitars appeared on the market I was skeptical for a long time …
And then I got some neurological problems and was not able to play a show for 2 years … I’m now back on stage and now I play acoustic/hybrid shows sitting down …
Where the major parts of the songs are acoustic and then some are with overdrive/distortion . I was playing like this with my acoustic guitar but was frustrated all the time with the feedback because of the overdrive / distortion ect …
At that point , the acoustasonic appeared suddenly to me like a wonderful idea…
And now I love it ! It really plays like an electric guitar . The neck is awesome.
I got a great deal on it cause it was a return and I got a discount on top of that cause it was the sales period in Belgium .
The guitar is perfect .
I love that Bourbon Burst finish with the tortoise rosette too .
It’s really a joy to play .
I think it’s one of the best guitars I’ve ever tried and I tried many . We’ll see at the end of the honeymoon ;-) .

Now, the pictures :

They do look beautiful, and the use you've described for it seems to be its ideal niche. Enjoy!

I liked that. The verse seemed a bit Knopfler-y and the chorus a bit Dinosaur JR-y to me :)

I guess I’m lucky cause I find my acoustasonic Jazzmaster Bourbon Burst beautiful .
I’m an amateur luthier , I’m taking class and I’m building an acoustic guitar from scratch . Doing that helped me to understand how those acoustasonic are made and I find it clever and beautiful…

I just put power pins on my acoustasonic jazzmaster !
I like it a lot , it was easy to install and now it’s so much easier and quicker to change strings … I like the sound too . No risk anymore for the ball ends to fall inside the guitar and mess with the electronics .
Pretty cool .

Also , I just noticed Jack White has a signature acoustasonic Jazzmaster , with a pickguard.

Another example of the usefulness of my Acoustasonic Jazzmaster.
6 months later, I still love this guitar.
But then, for our next concert on Friday, I'm going back to full electric with 2 real Jazzmasters. It's been 3 years since I last played a full electric gig, due to neurological problems.

But I’ll still play many show with the acoustasonic later.
