Why, I'm putting a buzz stop on all my Squiers!

Post by Pacafeliz » Thu May 26, 2022 1:55 am

Well yes, what the title says.

I used to be old-fashioned and close-minded about this, since, for some reason, my old Fenders never needed a buzz stop. Even before I put Staytrem bridges on.

But now these new Squiers.
I've put heavy strings on them, shimmed the neck, and whatnot. But the über loud buzzing ringing noise behind the bridge is unbearable.

So I put a buzz stop on one of my Jarmans. And pretty much everything improved. Even the string tension is so much "solid".
So... why do we hate those things so much?!
I do seriously see no contra point. Plus, it's extra chrome.

I'll go for more buzz stops and slap them on all Squiers.

Will I now be banned...? :bored:

Yes. I have reported your thread. I'm sorry, but it's for your own good.

:D :D :D

I'm all for function over aesthetics, but the only reason I wouldn't use them, extra chrome aside, is just because I don't like the way they look. That's it for me.

I used to believe that they will negatively affect the vibrato function, but that also turned out to be false

You gotta look out for your friends.

These wild times have got people losing their minds.

It's just that I like the resonance from behind the bridge.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I knew this sort of thing would come back once politics and religion were allowed back into the forum.

I swear, some people should have their offsets confiscated and only be allowed to play guitars with stoptails.

so the new wisdom is the buzz stops won't wreck your vibrato action, but they WILL kill your buzz?

we gotta rally around and protect the buzz!
