Looks to be an assembly of parts. Standard Mustang neck on a Mustang special body which isn't a big deal, but not original. Mustang special headstock should look like this:

Yep, looks like a RI Mustang neck. Can't tell if it's a '69 exactly though (rather than a 65 or 73).

Yes, so I'm also curious whether it's assembled or a special version? Because he wants to sell it to me for $544.

I've heard that there will be some special versions in Japan. It seems to be sold domestically, but it generally only exists in St, so I don't know exactly what it is.

I'm very interested in the circuit of the feeder pawn shop, but this one really makes me feel uncomfortable. Someone abused it.

I guess it's 69 because the serial number starts with jd12. I don't know which one.

highly doubt this is a special version. Just highly modified. However price isn't horrible if it is something you want, you could obviously offer the seller less. Originals in very good shape can run $900+

I'm pretty sure the export version had the "Mustang Special" decal and the Japanese domestic version had the standard "Mustang" decal.

I think so. Because Japan fender often does this

On the Pawn Shop Special the Enforcer humbuckers have two mounting screws on the bass side...

...but on the one you posted, the pickup look different and only have one mounting screw on either side.

Still it looks like it's the distinctive Pawn Shop Special Mustang body shape (slightly smaller than a standard Mustang)... Strange.

There's still an ad for the Japanese domestic version in white (the white ones weren't available outside Japan IIRC) up on Amazon.co.jp. Just has the standard "Mustang" decal as Kimson says and also only has one mounting screw either side of the pickups.

I'm pretty sure I've got some pictures of the Japanese ones I got from the Fender Japan website somewhere but can't find them atm :fp:

Was known as the "MG Custom" in Japan IIRC.

Edit: found a link for the CAR one on Amazon.jp Standard "Mustang" decal and single mounting screws.

I also noticed that the specs on Amazon.co.jp state the pickups are
Pickups: 2 x Dragster PS (japan)
Like LVC said, the pickups in the Pawn Shop Mustang Special are Enforcer humbuckers. According to the service sheet:
PICKUP ASSEMBLY COVERED FENDER ENFORCER STD WIDE BRG - 0078987000
Don't know much about Fender humbuckers tbh so not sure whether they're essentially the same thing or whether the difference might explain the different mounting screw arrangements.

Didn't the Japanese Fender Jaguar Special HH's have Dragster pickups (albeit not in WRHB covers)?

Thank you. I bought it for $500 a few days ago. I've been wondering whether my impulse is right these days. Now I come back and see your message. I feel very relieved
