Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguar
OMG, a silverburst Meteora with WRHBs?
If it didn't have a strat trem, I'd be into it. I adore the meteora body shape. It's so comfortable. I love silverburst too.
Oh well. I'll admire it from afar.

Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguar
I was holding out hope for something interesting, but this misses the mark for me.
Would've been much more pleased to have seem a genuine '62 reissue offered in a few pre-CBS finishes, e.g. blonde, shell pink, black.
I'm not really sure what this is meant to be.

Meh, it's no surprise to me. They already did the AV62/65 lines for many years to cater to the accurate reissue crowd...the anniversary ones have historically been more this direction before. Just look at the 60th Jazzmaster ones, and the 50th Jag ones - both were in this vein.Zeus wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:10 pmI was holding out hope for something interesting, but this misses the mark for me.

I'd like to think the next line of Vintage Reissues will be better but it'll likely be something similar to the AO60s

Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguar
yes i feel the very same. i like your idea of just doing a production run of what would otherwise be kind of a CS time machine series thing
i really do not care for dakota red anything. and while i usually love LPB, this take on it does not look different enough or novel enough to justify going to the trouble of purchasing one.
FMIC's product ideas for the past couple years have struck me as very odd. i wonder who is in charge of their R&D. i'm guessing that Ron Thorn's influence probably extends only to the CS stuff, but i could be mistaken. at any rate, he seems like he has a good head on his shoulders for design.
i guess who cares though right? Fender will make millions off their next lines either way. collectors will still buy this stuff up no matter what so it truly does not matter.

£2500? No thanks. Me being pessimistic was thinking of a rise to £2000, but Fender can absolutely do one at £2500.
I'll keep my vintera, for now. Perhaps whatever the successor to the American original line will present a better value jag (not that £2000 is good value either).

Re: 60th Anniversary Jaguar
Those Squiers are far nicer than the Fender offerings, aesthetically speaking.
If they were US-made, I would've been very tempted.
I don't know who is making these decisions at Fender, I don't understand their rationale at all.

They also made a vintage spec gold guard 50s JM (albeit only in sunburst) for the 60th anniversary too.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:17 pmMeh, it's no surprise to me.
