Did not anticipate the color contrasting elements of the pg (the yellow and bluish green accents) to look so smashing with that finish. Sweet guitar!
I agree, the labels and clashing colours actually really work for me.
Congrats on an absolutely stunning guitar!

It basically makes no financial sense to do so if you consider resale, but I'm bypassing that by deciding that I'm never going to consider selling it :D.
I find that most of my recent 'guitar projects' are like this. I've assembled a MJT custom finished parts Stratocaster and a parts Mustang. Plus my Rowyco-finished Firebird/Jazzmaster. I guess if I get bored enough I could sell them for a fraction of what they cost to build, but I love having something cool and unique. That Guild is awesome. Hope it sounds and feels as good as it looks!

It looks so great! I agree with you that the control labels should come off. If it were a straight black guitar I might consider keeping them but in this case it detracts from the finish.

You know is going to be good when it even looks good on a crappy pic. I agree that the pickguard area looks pretty sweet. 8)

Thanks! It's nice to see a project come together the way you had hoped. I had absolutely no frame of reference for how this would look outside of my mind's eye, so it was a bit of a gamble that appears to have paid off.

Hah, I'll let you guys fight it out. But I'll agree that the labels look better than I expected, but I still don't think they fit the aesthetic. Firstly, they're on a protective plastic overlay that will start wearing as soon as I start playing, and secondly, even if they wouldn't wear, they kinda take it in a "cheap retro import guitar" direction, which is cool, but not what I want for the T-bird I just spent hundreds of dollars getting refinished in a pristine sparkleburst.

I'll let you know once it arrives! I've got it on good authority that it plays well, so the only question is the tone. If the littlebuckers are a disappointment, I have two easy options available that I know I'll like - Filtertrons drop right in to the existing pickguard (and I even have a pair sitting in the parts drawer), and Firebirds fit the routs with a new guard. I love the tone of Filtertrons in a solidbody, and it's a set-neck mahogany guitar, so I know I'd love the tone of Firebirds in it, as well.

Yeah, this is just a preview pic from Stike. I'll be sure to take plenty when I get it in my hot little hands!
