Talk to me about those partsmasters. What's the story on their bodies and necks?

The B&B I put together in 2009, starting with the neck I asked Kifla to make for me, body was made by TheWorkOffice, I think apart from the electronics all the parts were bought from forum members around the world. I've been calling it the OSGmaster, it was natural with a white guard until I painted the sunburst about a year ago.

Gold guard has a body made, and painted by me, a Herad guard, Bootstrap pickups and the neck bought off eBay. I dont know the origin as it has no markings, but seems an awful lot like a Squier Mascis? I'm planning on building a neck for this one, just need to get confident enough to use my brazilian rosewood board I've been holding onto....

Both bodies are alder, btw.

Anyone have a 60-70s B&B Lake Placid Blue Jaguar?
Axe and you shall recieve! This is a '68 Jag.

This may look like it's aged green, but it's almost the exact same color under the guard / plates. It looks more blue in this pic

The colour this looks in the photos is basically my dream guitar, maybe a little greener would be good. Fucking ridiculous :-*

Oh wow! :?
That guitar is the ancestor of my OTM and my FMS that they never met! :-* the definition of beauty and sexy! Haha. Congrats! I didn‘t like newish LPB that much...but faded like yours it looks like a dream come true!

(Question: I know of bigger JM Headstocks in the CBS era - but were Jags also bigger? I somehow thought they would have stayed the same but your‘s looks bigger somehow)

Aw man, that's the guitar I had in art school, back in the 80s! Gorgeous!

Since the first moment I saw this exact guitar, it’s been my dream guitar. As a Fender fan especially, I don’t know how anyone can see this and not think it’s the coolest looking electric guitar of all time.

I’ll never afford one but as soon as I figure out a neck I’m trying to make a replica.

I bet that's just a trick of the angle that photo was taken. I don't think it is any bigger than my other Jag headstocks. I believe the Jag headstock was always bigger. In a way, it was the prototype for the CBS-era bigger headstock.

speaking of replica.. I recently mixed my own LPB and finished a jag with it:

This is a MIJ JG66B neck and an ash body from Guitar Mill.

I kind of regret not shooting a coat of amber tinted lacquer over the color basecoat to give it that darker vintage look, but it matches pretty well against the johnny marr jaguar and a gretsch custom shop I recently played. Maybe if I leave it out in the sun for a few years it will look like the real thing! 8) OR I could take it apart, sand and re-shoot the clear with the vintage amber tint. I've been experimenting a ton this year with mixed results!

That looks amazing! NIce build.

It will definitely age and get greener over the years. I've got a poly strat from 2004 that I baby and have never played out with. I just swapped the pickguard on that one earier in the year and even that had tan lines from the pickguard and just seeing a bit of northern Pacific Northwest sun and interior lighting. I've always worried about leaving something out in a bright sunny day from a consistency perspctive. You'd need to rotate it to make sure the sides and back also get greener. It's almost like painting with UV.

You really should just sell me this guitar oh my god you did a great job on it!

I had the JM66B and the yellow was so dark you couldn’t even tell there was binding on the neck so I hated it. The pearloid also looked crappy but I’d have been a lot less peeved if it was the blue Jag version instead
