NGD: TVL Jazzmaster
So I ended up getting a TVL JM. Everyone knows what these are at this point but I think these 2 look great together & just wanted to post a picture.
We are merely moving shadows.

Still one of the best finishes Fender have ever done. It looks lovely, enjoy!

Re: NGD: TVL Jazzmaster
Seems a good place to ask this, a while ago I read that the Costello and TVL JMs have more range on the trem arms as stock AVRI units. I’ve played a TVL and didn’t notice, but does anyone know if this is true? Guess it could be the case that the arms on these models are just bent differently.

No, there’s nothing different about the trems in those guitars compared to the others that use the same trem.

My vote is to make the guitars opposites. Gold with Red Guard / Red with Gold Guard.

I love everything about these except the damn block inlays. I have a copper age one and i am trying to swap the neck but don't want to lose the matching headstock. sigh! i think the oxblood would look incredible with a copper age headstock too, a little mix n match. Nice piece you got there.

The blocks are one of the best things about the model, IMO!

The spring on the Elvis Costello model is different than the regular AVRI model, marketing stated "Uniquely Costello inspired features include a post-’68 neck design, a walnut stain finish and a tremolo with easier and greater travel, essential for that “Watching the Detectives” tone, or what Costello calls that “spy movie” sound."Mechanical Birds wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 1:47 amNo, there’s nothing different about the trems in those guitars compared to the others that use the same trem.
I go into it a little in my review and history video on the Fender Elvis Costello Jazzmaster.
Also to OP: Killer duo! Who's the maker of the tort guard on the golden guitar? Looks sublime!

I think the tort guard is a Spitfire. That particular guitar came from someone else on this forum, right Rank? I remember it being in the for sale section and thinking it looked great. That was sometime last year I wanna say.algeriet wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 7:51 amMondaysoutar wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 12:19 amSeems a good place to ask this, a while ago I read that the Costello and TVL JMs have more range on the trem arms as stock AVRI units.
