Forum functionality
Is there a reason Active Topics doesn’t work? I find this a really useful feature on other forums – you can see which topics have been posted in recently, not just those you haven't read yet.
Similarly, is there any reason not to have quick reply at the bottom of topics?

Re: Forum functionality
I use new posts but it resets periodically, it is so off putting that it distances me from the website. Typically only visiting once a day at most but even then I find it had to keep track of topics I've become invested in in some way. It is very different to other forums I use.
If OSG has tort me anything...

Re: Forum functionality
Still wondering about this. Any chance we could have active topics, uh... activated?

Seriously though, it'd be really handy if active topics worked.

Re: Forum functionality
How would this be useful considering active topics are always at the top of each forum with the last post's date clearly visible? I generally try to maximize rather than minimize my time on the site so it's a really useless feature for me personally. What are your thoughts on it? Is it just visiting each forum you're interested in that you find tedious?tequila_in_teacups wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 4:29 pmjohnnysomersett wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 11:17 pmWeird to navigate? Re: Forum functionality
It’s a way of aggregating topics that have recent posts. Quicker then visiting a bunch of subforums, yes.luau wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 4:51 amHow would this be useful considering active topics are always at the top of each forum with the last post's date clearly visible? I often want to revisit a topic I’ve looked at but don’t necessarily remember what subforum it was posted in/it could conceivably belong in multiple forums. If it doesn’t have new posts, it doesn’t appear there or in unread posts. It’s not a huge deal – I just find it useful and wondered if others might also.

Re: Forum functionality
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It probably sounds silly but they help me think about it and minimize my own assumptions. There's no checkbox for us to turn it on or off, it's broken. I can't promise I'll be successful but I'll look into it.

Re: Forum functionality
Actually, there was a checkbox for us to turn this on. Lots of them, in fact. This will put a little load on the server so I've only enabled the forums in the Main Stage section. Let's monitor it for a week or so before I enable more.

Re: Forum functionality
You're most welcome. It explains why I had such a hard time finding the bug the last time I looked at this.

You're welcome. I've just enabled Side Stage.
