Looks great with the flat black. They'll look like twins once you get a similar-looking tort guard on it. Still not a HUGE fan of the tort guard that is on it. I think it would look rather scrumptulescent with a white pickguard.

Re: Electric XII project
You'll NEVER find one that will match the '61!
Besides that particular '61 guard being unusual in itself (you would be hard pressed to even find another '61 JM guard that matches that one)... the materials changed by '65. You might be able to find something closer than what's on the XII, but not matching.
Sorry to be a downer, it's not intentional...

Re: Electric XII project
DB's XII tort guard is sort of similar. Not exact, but similar.

Re: Electric XII project
Now all we have to do is wait for DB to post his Longitude/Latitude in that thread and we'll be that much closer to finding a place to get some nice tort guards.

Re: Electric XII project
OK, this is not exact, but close enough:
39, 28, 24 N
106, 03, 21 W
And don't bother coming, all the tort guards are spread out across the county
DB
PS: Yes, my XII guard does look similar to Zhivago's.
