I do have the issue that I kinda hate this guitar. It's definitely not shielded but the pickups sound much lounder on b and E is this a common old Jazzmaster thing or could it have something to do with the wrong pots?
I missed this. Were you using pure Nickel strings? Is the guitar overly bright due to the lack of shielding?
