come on!
edit: you could use very light sparkle effect and some glossy clean laquer to get a satin effect. i think this would be tight.

If you're considering red, Dakota looks great with a tortoise guard. I'd also suggest Burgundy Mist/Tortoise as a pretty sweet combo. You could even have a cool target burst done. I love mid 60's bursts as much as anything.

Hmmm... i showed this to my g/f and she loved it! i never thought i'd like that but it looks pretty damn cool! I'll give her a few days to see if she changes her mind If she doesn't, i'll keep the blonde ash Novak for myself then!StevenO wrote: Did somebody say shell pink?:
good suggestion Linc & SteveO for the pic. I also like Jay's Dakota Red suggestion but I also like the metallic in CAR... Hmm... Dakota over Inca? that could be interesting...

Shell pink!
Leave the current finish on it. That way when it starts to wear, you'll get a nice red colour underneath. DUWIT!

Well, that would be cool but the surface is not even enough. It'll need some sanding and whatever else... not filling-in but... I dunno what you call it.StevenO wrote: Shell pink!

yeah, the shell pink vintage tort guard combo has been growing on me since I first saw StevenO's pic a few months ago. It is so eye catching; a combo I'd never thought of, nor ever imagined would look good together.
I now think this is the rawest, and coolest combo out there. If I had a tort guard like yours, I'd already have a shell pink JM.
Lee Ranaldo ripped a pink strat for a live version of silver rocket. To me, pink looks raw. I am a fan of a lot of other colors too.

So far I think it's gonna be either Shell Pink w/ a tinted nitro clear coat or CAR w/ tint. I've got to get Heidi another guitar to play live before tearing this one apart. I just finished an Allparts ash body tele project she can use, if she likes it. She ain't using the '59!

Hell yeah. Steven, I'm not going to order you around but I do politely suggest that you continue ordering OffYourFace to paint his guitar shell pink until such time as he does.StevenO wrote: SHELL PINK! I'm not suggesting it, I'm ordering you to!
Damn that's hot! I'm 10% sexier just for having looked at that picture.
Bigger in sum than parts.
