believe the electric XIIs had N, N+B (parallel), B, N+B (out of phase) and weak and thin seems like out of phase to me so I believe yours is correct.

Hi! Thanks for you reply.

Am I wrong assuming (Norman's vids would confirm) that the two options were parallel and series?
When you say "out-of-phase" do you really mean it or is it rather "series"?
"Out of phase" you mean one pickup is connected to the other still in parallel but with polarity reversed?

Best, G.

The original 4-way rotary switch has the following positions:

1 - neck
2 - parallel, both pickup (in phase)
3 - bridge
4- parallel, both pickup (out of phase)

There was no series option on the original XII.

BTW, with modern commercial 4-way switches you cannot achieve the same positions on the same order of the original XII, that used a custom made CTS switch.

Thank you matbard, this explains it all and it matches what I have now after adding a link (between pins of the original rotary switch) that was not there in the first place hence I believe my guitar did not have the 4th option from the factory. I had found one example in another '65 Electric XII: https://guitar.com/review/vintage-revie ... ctric-xii/.
Thank you all and have my best regards, G,
