Leaves me with the question: Why would anyone ruin a good J Mascis Squier for that? If you want an ugly guitar, get a cheap kit. The Mascis is perfect as it is...
"500€? That's the price of a J Mascis Jazzmaster!"

Meh, it's only a Squier. And those JMJMs are ten-a-penny rubbish anyway
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Lol, not at all...you know me, I'll use almost anything - I sold my CS JM because I preferred my CIJ, and my favourite overdrives are a Rat and a Blues Driver, no cork-sniffing at all. I just think there's no need to be that precious about a cheap guitar that is ubiquitous (and, IMHO, not that great)

I think the jmjm punches above its price point in a bunch of ways, but I don’t find this type of instrument debauchery offensive. It’s not mine, and I’d pass it by on the used market in such condition, but eh, I’ll save my pearls for other clutching.

Oh hell yeah. For that price it better be a real PAF.
The Swinger is the one "white whale" (OK along with the Starcaster) that I haven't had the chance to own.
That one, modded. Yes. But not at that price.
Plus, i hate the ultra short scale.
But :? anyway

Who wants an original candy apple red jazz bass for under 1000?

Fucking termites… I think someone on here needs to buy it and pump it full of wood-filler but I would be kinda scared only would break in shipping,

That is a crying shame - it looks like it was in beautiful condition before the termites hit.
Too bad that it is now pretty much a paint shell without much wood left inside!

Tastefully relic-ed to perfection.

"Fender Mustang - made & fired up in the USA:

* alder body - VERY HOT REAL RELIC

* maple neck with CHARCOAL FINGERBOARD - missing some frets & all dots

* all chrome parts are very tarnished

* tuner buttons in melted condition

* broken E string ( can be replaced easily )

* an interesting conversation piece for long winter nights......

* also a great X-mas present...."

This is obviously a joke, but I'm intrigued as to story behind it. Someone trying to look on the bright side of life after losing it in a house fire?
