I'm also happily surprised with the kahler, it reminds me a lot of my Yamaha sgv tremolo and it definitely does the shoegaze/surf shimmer and it takes bends in contrary to a floyd rose, which I don't really enjoy. I'm not sure if I'm set on the pickups but they'll do for now.
Btw, I don't know if this is common with late 70's musicmasters? But it feels much more like a toy than my mustangs.
Honestly I think it looks awesome, it straddles that line between stock and overly modded perfectly, right in the middle in the Goldilocks zone, as I see it.
The fact it has a slight toyness to it would actually make it more fun to play from my perspective - I always liked that about Mustangs as compared to Jags. Mustangs were the younger sister offsets to the more grown up ladylike Jags, so I suppose the same would apply between the Mustang and Musicmaster.
How does the vibrato range compare to an offset? Thing I always notice and have to adjust to when going from Jag to Meteora (with Strat style trem) is you can do the subtle shimmer wobbles with almost no effort and get the same pitch range in a shorter travel, it's almost too easy actually. Is it anything like that?
