Good shout, I remember reading about those on here years ago.Highnumbers wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 11:43 amI wonder if this was previously a "Tielman Brothers" style 9-string conversion? Quite common among JMs/Jags from that era, and I can't think of any other reason somebody would paint the backside of the headstock. It covers up additional tuner holes.GreenKnee wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 10:25 am£100,000 for a refin? Bargain! Tipex back of headstock? Interesting choice.

"Stripped, re shaped headstock, new decal, non original hard case in poor condition" ...but we still want $4K for it.
For not much more than that, you can still get one without any of the aforementioned selling points.

...not that I'd ever sell it, but makes me wonder what the crackwhore would be "worth".

well that's the issue. anyone who touches it who it deems not worthy instantly melts like in that scene in raiders of the lost arc.

Yeah there's stuff like that happening constantly... It's pretty dramatic.
Though, both OSG Nicks (niksurreal and thisisnickpaige) got away with only minor damage. Geoff (cestlamort) didn't even dare looking at her, just to be safe...

Here’s a subtle but wallet crushing one for the owner.

Go to the front headstock photo… someone thought nah I don’t need a new nut what I need are two picture hangers!
Still I guess you could hang artwork from the headstock when you play live.

Yeah I found that pretty funny. It’s a great guitar though I played it a few months ago. It was for sale a few months ago for 5k at a local shop and that seller bought it to sell it for more. I really wanted itMarc wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 10:44 pmHere’s a subtle but wallet crushing one for the owner.

These are the ones that confuse me the most, when the rest of the guitar is untouched and kept in good condition but at some point in it's history someone made one utterly weird and pointless modification

I can't get over this listing. Like, it seems so ill-informed, I worry they genuinely think they'll get £100k for it.GreenKnee wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 10:25 am£100,000 for a refin? Bargain! Tipex back of headstock? Interesting choice.

I bet that was modified to a 9 string at some point and the back of the headstock being painted is to hide the repair.
