Buyer remorse is not a reason for refund.

“How about that top cutaway?”

As I said, overall pretty good condition.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

I don't even understand what people were trying to achieve by doing this. It's not like there's an issue with upper fret access that side of the fretboard (like you often see lower horns butchered like this on guitars). It just fucking ruins the lines of the guitar, and is a whole lot of work, for absolutely zero benefit - functionally or aesthetically!
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Man, I did plenty of drugs in the 90's and the worst I'd ever do is throw the original pickups from 60's Jazzmasters into the trash and put in Super Distortions (which I did do a few times, sorry/notsorry). I don't think it ever occurred to me, even in my wildest trips, to hack chunks out the body shapes :D :D

Yeah I also did the occasional pickup change or over speak (yes rattle can spray) :fp: but other than savagely routing for humbuckers (...) I kept the wood intact.
Except when a guitar got smashed/thrashed.

Ok and once we unfretted a guitar, but it was a cheap Strat copy.

I remember one of my elementary school buddie's dad hacked a perfectly fine Jolana Iris Bass into a potato shape and resprayed it in some kind of fugly brown glitter to make it look "modern". That was early 2000s and you could get one of those for free most of the time. Maybe those mustangs were "modernized" too?

Hell I paid $350 for a first year mustang with OG case in the mid 90s.. They weren't too special then

Keeping the off topic ramification: in my life, I've owned (have passed through my hands) well over 30-40 Mustangs. Early 2000s in Mexico I'd pick them up from 1500-5000 pesos, Max. That was around $150-500 USD.
Some old ads of mine are still in the for sale section.

Those were the days.

In about 1996 or so, I saw a mustang going for $500 at Chicagos in Tucson AZ..
I bought a Univox Hyflyer instead for $400.. But I knew it was the end of the stangs
being budget guitars

Seems pretty clear to me that the intention was not function, but rather, just to make it look like a Strat. For a few decades, Strats were cool and Mustangs were not.

That of course changed in the '90s. I'm surprised we haven't seen a bunch of butchered "offsetted" Strats since then, being sold in "overall good shape."
