That thing is so ugly that it’s beautiful I would take it for like half the price

Fortunately, someone with good woodworking skills (cough....Will....cough) should be able to graft the missing piece back on. A solid colour refin with matching headstock would disguise it even more.caples wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 5:54 amhttps://reverb.com/item/56213062-fender-jaguar-1963

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

True I'd probably take it for cheaper. 4k is kinda crazy even in this market.PorkyPrimeCut wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 7:57 amFortunately, someone with good woodworking skills (cough....Will....cough) should be able to graft the missing piece back on. Butchered Squier Jazzmaster, seller asking for higher than brand new price because Sonic Youth https://reverb.com/item/56162935-squier ... off-decals

Love that the description opens with "This is a totally unique Jazzmaster" before going into detail about how hard it was to make it look identical to another specific Jazzmaster.X-Ray Spex wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 8:40 amButchered Squier Jazzmaster, seller asking for higher than brand new price because Sonic Youth https://reverb.com/item/56162935-squier ... off-decals

I love Sonic Youth, and I think signature models are fine, but I don't understand why someone would want to own a guitar exactly alike down to the stickers and dents to another player. Seems very against the original spirit of the whole thing.Salfaromeab wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 2:49 amLove that the description opens with "This is a totally unique Jazzmaster" before going into detail about how hard it was to make it look identical to another specific Jazzmaster.X-Ray Spex wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 8:40 amButchered Squier Jazzmaster, seller asking for higher than brand new price because Sonic Youth https://reverb.com/item/56162935-squier ... off-decals

£100,000 for a refin? Bargain! Tipex back of headstock? Interesting choice.

Re: "Why did you do it? Why did you do this thing to me?"
I wonder if this was previously a "Tielman Brothers" style 9-string conversion? Quite common among JMs/Jags from that era, and I can't think of any other reason somebody would paint the backside of the headstock. It covers up additional tuner holes.GreenKnee wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 10:25 am£100,000 for a refin? Bargain! Tipex back of headstock? Interesting choice.
