so it's really a 66 neck on a modern body? honestly, i don't even think the neck is a 66. the fretboard looks too light and looks more like a bad relic jobMechanical Birds wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 2:18 pmThis might belong somewhere else but what the fuck calling this a 1966 is straight up fraud for fucks sake what is wrong with people

This is exceptionally scurrilous and pretty deceptive. That's a lot of money for a modern partscaster with nothing more than a vintage neck to account for some of the cost. You can pick up a '66 Jaguar neck for less than a grand these days so that's some fucking markup!s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 4:09 pmso it's really a 66 neck on a modern body? honestly, i don't even think the neck is a 66. the fretboard looks too light and looks more like a bad relic job

Holy shit, that's a real ripoff. But then again, if someone really buys this, it's his/her own fault for being stupid... and rich, I guess.

Oh... yes, bad advertising...
I will ask him for pics of the neck stamp.

It’s always possible that this is a perfect example of how people in Europe always whine about not being able to get these guitars for anything close to a reasonable price

Does the headstock look like aged CAR to anyone, or is it a refin? In which case wouldn't that devalue it? Because it looks like a pretty close match for the much newer body on my monitor.
Reminds me of those local ads/eBay listings where they're selling multiple items and list the price of the cheapest item as their headline. 1965 JAGUAR (read description) !!!

I'd say that was a refin on the headstock, judging by this sloppy job...UlricvonCatalyst wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 6:11 amDoes the headstock look like aged CAR to anyone, or is it a refin? Ah, yes! Looks like a refin for me also...
The seller wrote immediately back.
He said that if it would be all original it would be a lot over 10k.
He offered me 4699€..
But I told him that this is unrealistic and definitely too much for a partsjaguar, and that calling it "custom guitar" it simply makes it nicer in the description.
I told him that really under 4k is realistic maybe.
I wished him good luck with his business.
Told him also that the headstock looks like a refin.

Part of me wonders how many of these folks ARE the stupid/rich people who bought these things, armed with little more than a "vintage = buxx" mindset. And now that they realize how much these things aren't worth, they're just trying to find another stupid/rich person to buy them out of their mistake.

Re: "Why did you do it? Why did you do this thing to me?"
it reminds me of something one of the dudes at my work was telling me about. he has a BMX that's worth a good £3000 that he bought in the 90's. but he was telling me there's more fakes out there than real ones because they were easy to fake if you didn't know exactly what the tell tale signs were. i have a feeling this seller is trying to do the same.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the most offensive part of this dogshit, the wackass trem spacing. Is it just me or is that even closer than the typical closer spacing Fender uses? Did they even do a 50th anniversary in CAR? P sure that’s just a classic player body, and that’s ridiculous.
$4,000 is beyond unreasonable here. If that neck is real then what, maybe $1500-1700? Shits gross
