They generally hock lefty but from time to time they have righties... just wanted to pass on the info.
BTW: Use caution with Southpaw though... as much as I like Jimmy, I've have a tepid experience with them.

Is it just a matter of lighting in the picture (?) but the upper bout of this Jaguar looks really pointy... It looks as if it were remodeled...

How can you tell? The bevelling of the edges or something?Jay wrote: Repro guard as well.

I would not say this is a great deal. I think it should have all original parts and case for that price.
I wouldn't say it's a really bad deal though. It depends on how bad one wants an LPB refin Jag with B&B. The value will catch up to the price, that's for sure.
Maybe they're flexible on the price.

I don't see the truss rod scoop on that guard. How can you tell? The bevelling of the edges or something?

Is it my eyes.... or is the volume knob missing and revealing a split-shaft pot?
I'll bet this was a beat up sunburst that was refinned, parts-swapped, custom colored, and re-guarded. :-\
Still looks nice though...

I'd also wonder about the PUPs. The magnets seem a little "too" clean and shiny, plus they just done seem to extend up far enough... look more like my AV PUPs than my vintage 66 jag PUPs. (plus the PUP covers seem quite white and bright , very similar to the colour of the nice non original guard)
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

Exactly. I've never seen a repro that has that nice shallow bevel the originals have.Orang Goreng wrote:How can you tell? The bevelling of the edges or something?Jay wrote: Repro guard as well.

looks awfully shiny and new for a 68. Actually if they're judging from Fenders website serial number dating guide, could be 68-70 like mine.
IMHO for 2k it better sound better than I ever imagined, and look like it's kinda old. I'm not really a collecter, so I'd just as soon have an AV, if I'm spending mad cash.
BUt i could be wrong.

Yeah, it makes the black ply look much thicker and prominent on originals.
I'm with aen on this one. I'd almost just as soon have an AV if I was going for a player. This deal would be much more attractive if the replacement cost of the changed parts was deducted from the total.

Almost twenty years later this has turned up in Scotland. Quite the price increase in that time

Great find!
Is it just the lighting/shadow, or is the neck pocket gap massive?

honestly, i thought to myself "they're wanting a bit much for a 68 refin" but seeing the pics under the guard, they might just be mad.

My thoughts as well. Are routed, refinished CBS Jaguars actually selling for anywhere near that price?s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 9:30 amhonestly, i thought to myself "they're wanting a bit much for a 68 refin" but seeing the pics under the guard, they might just be mad.
