Re: The ARIA 1802t/1803t - EPIPHONE ET 270 DATABASE
Well, I ended up buying the Domino Olympic. I had been waiting for my mother to ship one of my late father's guns from Oregon to Colorado. As it happens, she decided to ship it to the gun shop that is next door to the guitar store that had the Domino. I'm not much of a gun nut myself, but I am a guitar nut, so while I was waiting for the background check to finish up, I popped next door and bought the Domino.
Upon closer inspection, I believe that the neck and bridge pickups are original as they fit the oversized holes in the pickguard perfectly, versus the strat pickup in the middle. Also the pole pieces are noticeably smaller. The store had them set way too low. Once I raised them up they really came to life and have a nice spanky tele kind of sound. I wish I could hear them together, but it's currently wired like a strat and the middle pickup is garbage. I'm thinking I'll put in a four way switch for the neck and bridge pickups and put a three way in the other slot in order to bring a to-be-determined new middle pickup in and out of the circuit. I'll probably put a strangle switch into the slide switch hole.
The neck is a nice chunky 0.85" at the 1st fret, tapering to 0.95" at the twelfth .
I'm almost certain that this has been refinished to it's current Dakota Red-ish color as there are barely visible runs in the paint on the rear side. So this will more than likely get stripped and repainted. Also the frets are really low, so I may as well re-fret the neck while I have it apart for finishing.
I'm not sure who Tyler was, but he cared enough about this guitar to scratch his name on the heel of the neck.

I wonder how hard it would be to change the collet for one of the ones off of one of the Squier tremolos. It wasn’t possible with my Yamaha SA50 but these trems have way more similar parts than the Yamaha one

Gave this a good setup.
It plays and sounds amazing.
I added poles to the Goldfoil humbucker. Gives it a bit more of an attack. And looks good next to the Teisco pickup.

Wow! Quite a lot seems to have happened on the 1802t front during the few months I was away from OSG.
It looks like you used the pivot and anchor plates from a JM/Jag unit. I found they're slightly too wide for the 1802/3t's route. Did you have to file them down, or did you enlarge the cavity?
What about depth? I found the 1802/3t's route is slightly too shallow to accommodate the tension spring of a JM/Jag trem, and I was worried one of these might bottom out when used enthusiastically. The route on my 1803t is 27mm (1 1/16") deep, and I've seen minimum usable depth for a JM/Jag unit stated as 30mm (1 3/16"). With the body of the Aria being only 34mm (1 5/16") thick, extra routing for the spring would have to be done very carefully.
And most importantly, how did you make the baseplate? milling/CNC? The sides don't look like they have been bent.
Oh, and with the gold foil pickups, the tort guard and the super shiny poly finish that guitar looks awesome!
That's quite impressive! When I was trying to make something out of my 1803t body I considered making a vibrato unit from scratch too, but I hit quite a few snags in the process and lost the impetus – I ended up buying a complete 1803t out of frustration. I'd be very interested to learn how you made it, and I'm sure others would as well.

Thanks.
I designed it and had it 3D printed in Nickel Steel.
The string anchor and collet etc is from an import Jag tremolo.
It was too big for the cavity. I routed out the cavity and made it deeper to accomodate it. It's now something like 3.5cm deep.

I saw a tort truss rod cover listed on ebay a few days ago for $25 and a set of the tuners listed recently as well.

I was just looking last night and didn't see those. I will have to keep looking. Are these:
The same as these but just uncovered or something?

Those Stewmac tuners are angled in the wrong direction I believe.
Here is the truss rod cover
and
Here are the tuners
They are a 3X3 set, but I believe they can be disassembled and turned into 6inline. I have a spare set myself, but am not particularly interested in being one of those people who sell single tuners for stupid prices (I replaced mine with Kluson Revolution F-mounts).

I got the truss rod cover! The tuner posts don't quite look the same so I will either need to find just one or a set of six inline. I saw those schaller ones for $74.... LOL

I have these...
I guess you'd need 6 in line like the ones to the left but I only have 3+2
The ones on the right are 6 in line but a bit different... dang, sorry.
But if you want them, you can have em all for free if you pay for the shipping...
