Gorgeous 1976 Starcaster on Nor Cal Craiglist
Spotted a really beautiful all original '76 Starcaster today, really love this color scheme with natural/black, wide range pickups and mild patina on the hardware. Looks timeless with the maple board. The price is a little more than I'd like to see but meh, probably appropriate in this era. Not sure if there's any issue with adding a link to the offsite listing but I'll put it up if you want to read it over and see the other pictures. I'm not affiliated with this person or sale, just me likey look at pictures and drool on keyboard

I think that's pretty reasonable actually in the post covid marketplace.

I think I'm a sucker for this shade of butterscotch. Not usually a curly top kinda guy but I think the figuring looks nice on this one, just adds to the aged wood look for me. I also appreciate the 1970's sunburst though.
Probably right, it's not a terrible price, plus it's craigslist and smart people who post shit on craigslist leave some room for negotiation because it's craigslist and people will on a regular basis offer you bubble gum and old shoelaces as forms of payment. You have to filter the responses somehow.

Re: Gorgeous 1976 Starcaster on Nor Cal Craiglist
looks a lot like mine! these are wonderful, and i couldn't decide between the natural maple look or Sunburst, so i went with the one that was affordable at the right time, which was Natural.
the price was only a bit less than this one, but when i was looking last year, i saw them going for $5000-6000 quite often. i think they may be creeping back down a bit, or more certainly they can take a while to sell because they're still unusual, even though they've been discovered as worthy. so if a seller is motivated, it's not unusual to get them below 'market value'. though this one looks like a good deal already, as is.
i have a general Starcaster topic going over here, where we were harvesting infos on the model:
The Big (?) Vintage Starcaster Thread
by the way, there's a section in the here in the Guitar Shop section called "eBay Auctions, Craigs List ads etc." where these things are typically posted, but you might not be able to see it until you reach 50 posts. but it doesn't bother me that you posted it here.

Well, I'm about 2 posts away so I'll remember that for next time, thank you. I think "discovered" is the right word, people will ignore something until it's time to hop on the bandwagon and then it's praises are sung ad infinite. I'll check out your starcaster thread as well, thanks for the link.46346 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 11:55 pmby the way, there's a section in the here in the Guitar Shop section called "eBay Auctions, Craigs List ads etc." where these things are typically posted, but you might not be able to see it until you reach 50 posts. but it doesn't bother me that you posted it here.

Now that I can view the glaringly obvious location where this should actually be posted, if someone wants to move or lock the thread I won't be offended. Had I been aware of the specific category for this sort of thing I would have held off on posting until it could be properly filed, sorry mods.

not at all a problem in my book, it happens a lot, and of course especially with new users who can't see that area until they are established. i'm glad you posted, cuz i don't think anyone else did!

Re: Gorgeous 1976 Starcaster on Nor Cal Craiglist
i thought the star caster was a new fender design not that it is vintage. it looks so different to every other fender from the older times with the buckers and the hollowbody it is quite unusual. i have seen lots of them for sale on webstores and they are not too expensive for a guitar with so much work into it i guess that is china for you everything is cheap to make
