Pay tribute to the original finish with competition stripes in hot pink and cyan. It's the right thing to do.
LOVE that idea!

Might get this strap...

Love that strap and the neon pink comp stripes idea. Welcome to Miami!

All night, on the beach till the break of dawn
"Welcome to Miami"
"Bienvenidos a Miami"
Bouncin' in the club where the heat is on
All night, on the beach till the break of dawn
I'm goin to Miami
"Welcome to Miami"
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Glad it is a refin, because now you can turn it into a full-blown Miamistang without worry.

Starting with tropical-coloured comp stripes and a loud strap. Maybe some yellow pickup cover too.

Bring it on!!

Latest update on the MiamiStang.

MiamiStang

My first foray into pickup changes. Air Norton S in the neck and Tone Zone in the Bridge. 250k pots swapped out for 500k.

Pleased.

Wow, that looks really sharp! I didn't expect to like it so much. I think it's because the pickup blades coordinate nicely with the lines in the pickguard at the same angle.

I'm going to go ahead and directly embed the photo in the thread. It's worth posting the eye candy!

Thanks folks. It plays really nicely and while it sounds nothing like a proper Mustang, I'll be able to use it for work in its current configuration.

Plus the hot rails look gnarly AF! :P

And it's not like anything vintage/untouched/irreversible was done in the process. If someone years down the line wants to put it back to stock it's easy enough. As it is, it's going to get some serious use, which is the main thing.

As long as you don’t take it to the Oscars. Miami stang might slap the presenter

That's what it's all about. I'm all for reversible mods that don't devalue the guitar and make it more usable, like the Kinmans I put in my refin Jag. Became my #1 instead of the guitar I wished was my #1, but wasn't suited to most of my purposes.
