That's a great looking guitar, congratulations!
Do you know what strings are on it? I love the look of the red ribbon on the ball end of flatwounds, but on most the ribbon is only on the wound strings and not the plain. These have the ribbon on them all and I love the look of it

Nice! I had an eye on that one myself -- almost took a daytrip down the road to check it out.adamrobertt wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 7:12 amThis baby is being delivered to me tomorrow. I’m so excited!

I don't know if they are these ones but this guy makes them with silks on all the strings:GreenKnee wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 7:53 amThat's a great looking guitar, congratulations!

Thanks, yeah I've seen these before, the rainbow ones they produced for a short time looked amazing! You're probably correct that these are those brand, sadly though no flatwounds and sometimes they seem to have differing lengths of ribbon which is just too much for me to handlejohnnysomersett wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 11:11 amI don't know if they are these ones but this guy makes them with silks on all the strings:GreenKnee wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 7:53 amThat's a great looking guitar, congratulations!

Lol, I was under the impression they were flatwounds. Maybe I didn't read it correctlyGreenKnee wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 12:13 pm

Oh well. They better be fucking amazing for the money they cost then!

It doesn't say anywhere whether they are flatwound or not. I emailed a few months ago asking if they did flatwounds but I never heard anything back.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 12:51 pmLol, I was under the impression they were flatwounds. The ones on OP's Reverb listing are definitely round wound:
On their website it looks like the Bass VI set are flatwound, but see the differing ribbon lengths on these and the next pic

!!!!!!!
Interesting to see a 70s JM with tort. I’m used to seeing the black guard. It looks great!
I think you have figured out the strings, but rotosound used to use a similar red wrap on their bass strings.

I think the sticker on the headstock looks cool.
also- I like the finish wear, looks good, unlike some 70s fenders when they age!

Re: Incoming NGD
Yeah - while I think it’s kind of insane that a dealer would do that to a brand new guitar - it def adds charm and character at this point imo.terminalvertigo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 5:36 amI think the sticker on the headstock looks cool.

Yeah that was quite a thing here in Germany. Now I think it's pretty cool. Some of these music shops still exist, others are long gone...
Oh and amazing guitar. I've had two or three '72/'74 Jazzmasters and they all were wonderful.
