See, to me, the best part of a vintage fender is how well broken-in the necks feel. When something is THIS clean...hell, you might as well buy a reissue - from a player's standpoint at least.

Good price in today's market though (as insane as that sounds to say out loud)

One of my bandmates sent me that link on Sunday night while it was still available. I'm a sucker for Ice Blue Metallic. Unfortunately, I was tapped out from vintage Jag purchase the day before.

I asked if I could borrow $12K, but he never replied to my text.

There's an identical one, but 50 years younger, for sale on FB Marketplace UK right now that's 1/10th of the price and looks identical 😂

*Edit: looks like it finally sold as I can't find it now.

If anyone knows where a beat to shit IBM offset is... I'll make it worth your while! :)

Probably Mike and Mike. You'll see it for triple, soon.

Why does it have F tuners? Didn't those come out in '66?

There is a pretty good chance this is a refin. The seller doesn't provide any pictures of the neck pocket or cavities. I wouldn't have taken the gamble.

I think the F-tuners arrived in the fall of 1965, and offsets got them a couple years before they started showing up on Strats and Teles. There are a couple other late-65 Jags on Reverb right now with F-tuners, like this one: https://reverb.com/item/55543435-fender ... 5-sunburst

Still, for that kind of money, the skeptic within wonders why he didn't include any pics of the internals -- especially since he already took it apart to replace the shim. Maybe that's why he felt he had to say that the "lovely light checking in the paint" is "a great way to show skeptics that it’s the real deal." He does say "all-original," which of course we presume to include the finish, but I've seen plenty of refins advertised as "all original" in the sense that none of the parts have been replaced.

But whatever -- someone jumped on it, so he got the buxx he needed, and the originality is someone else's $12K question now.

Yup, I have an Oct65 neck Jaguar (also with white binding) with F tuners and F plate.

So I really REALLY want this Jag.

IBM is so hawt, and if the only issue is it's in good shape, I will just play it to death to fix that. :)

thing is user is in Tallahassee FL, and Will only ship to me in Canada if I pay him via Bank Draft (or paypal gift lol)

He refuses to take regular paypal ( I even offered to cover his fees) but he is convinced he will get fucked over shipping it to Canada.

Anyone live in Tallahassee? :)

I would just call a reputable shop there and ask them if they'd pack and ship the guitar for a fee.

I had one of the AV65s that looked just like the one in the OP. Didn’t keep it long/felt weird about owning 3 AVRI guitars at once.

Shipped it out like 3/4 weeks before the COVID shutdown for like ~$1400 :(

Don't worry. I sold a Modulus Flea Bass for $900 in 2013, same version is going for like $4500 now :D
