thimble question

Based on the year of this guitar tall thimbles are correct, but look at how much more thimble (and less bridge post) is showing on the bass side. The guitar has been refinished. Was it maybe not seated all the way when reinstalled?

I see what you mean - my original ‘65 the height of the thimbles is flush or even a little below the pickguard. I guess it’s possible something was placed inside the thimble cavity to raise it up a little.

Pretty sure it's just your pickguard being warped a bit. Try taking it off to see if they're at the same height in reference to the body, that's all that matters!
