NGD: Goya Panther S3 '67 (or so)

Absolutely a bucket list guitar for me- I've been looking out for one for years, and this one came up at a rare cashflow-friendly moment.
I'd have been ok with a Galanti Grand Prix or Jetstar, but this was the version I really wanted. Original and complete, right down to the case and the strap, which are pretty cool in themselves (will add pics later). The only issue is that it's had some pretty horrendous work done to it (final pic):

Not a problem though, I pointed it out to the seller, and he was straight up & cooperative about it. I'll pull the frets, level the board and get rid of most, if not all, of the damage. Really nice neck and compound radius board, it'll be great when sorted out.

Are the pickup single coils or mini-humbuckers? They look very similar to the mini-hums in my Crucianelli Elite Model 40-V. Regardless, beautiful instrument. Congratulations.

I don't know, I've heard internet opinions in both direction. I'll try to take a look when the guitar's apart, wouldn't be surprised to find out they're minihums.
I remember your Crucianelli project, really cool.

Oh vintage gas!
before pulling the fret maybe steam a little ? With a clean tissue do a steam on the dent ,sometimes it works
Do not know this one but i am fan of galanti grand prix

Nothing too clever unfortunately, I just had a search on ebay going for about 10 years
If you do a "1965 Galanti" Youtube search you'll get some drowninginguitars vids with Mike Dugan playing a Grand Prix, and some grev21 clips featuring a Jetstar. Cosmetic differences only from mine.

Thanks Ludo, I will try with some steam, but the gouges are deep, plus the fret level/crown "job" is such a disaster that I'm not sure I can level them without going super low. As much as I don't really like doing fret jobs, it seems easier just to start all over again. It may not be as bad a state as I think once I get into it...
Such a nice guitar, I will do what it takes to get it right.
