Whammy bar
Can anyone tell me what sizes the 1965 Fender Mustang tremolo arm are supposed to be? I need a replacement arm and the hole on my guitar measures maybe a scoonch under 5mm. Could be right at 5mm, but seems slightly under. Does anyone have any definitive knowledge about trem arm sizes for 1965 Mustangs? Thanks

If you're measuring at just under 5mm I would assume it's 3/16", Americans then and now use imperial measurements.
Are you after a replacement from '65, or would a modern repro do? I think a modern American made trem arm for a Mustang would fit no problem.

Re: Whammy bar
I just bought a new one and it's too thick to fit my vintage Mustang.
Finding an American one is kinda hard and expensive

keep you eyes open for a Staytrem Mustang Trem arm. Better than the original arm - the angle is fully adjustable - and also a perfect fit for vintage Mustangs. However: it seems that these are totally out of production.
