Love trashed looking Jags. Love the pics with the equally (if not more) trashed car :w00t:

I have one of these. :)
What year do you have? I know they've reissued them a few times over the years but I think the one in that picture is a '53/'54. If you have a 50s one then I am sincerely jealous
I have one from 1956. :)

...indeed, the one in the above picture will be from late '53 to sometime in '55..that's when the knobs on them change.

I run this mega thread on these guitars at the Les Paul forum, if you ever want to do a deep-dive.

Well, shit. Congratulations. Yours is basically my perfect example of one too (nicely broken-in).

A good amount of information in that thread you linked too. As much as I love them, I don't think I'll ever be able to justify the cost of one these days (not that they've been cheap for a long long time). No wonder you don't feel the need to own many guitars, you've got the cream of the crop.

Bravo

It took a while to get it, but it was worth the struggle in my case...never say never...I never thought I'd own one either. :)

Yeah, it definitely one I'd have to do some long-term saving for. Looking at prices I'd be lucky to get one for less than 18k... Most are way higher.

And don't apologise, thread derails are always welcome when I get to see such delights as your '56!

Small update on this. It's quickly become my #1 and I use it over everything else at the moment. The pickups were a touch squealy at band volumes with my Rat so had them re-potted and it fixed the issue. It currently sports a Mastery bridge and a smattering of stickers.

Very happy with the purchase

Man, that's cool! Who stickers up a vintage 1960's guitar these days!? A ballsy move but it looks great. I guess the refin allows you to do that. :-*

PS. I had that Rival Schools EP!

I've stickered up OG finishes 'these days' too. But I'm a lunatic who doesn't care...it's just a guitar that happens to be old. It's not a Picasso :D

Very cool. In the future you can use Naphtha safely for cleanup. It'll evaporate completely. Use good ventilation.

Love it, don't see them stickered up much anymore these days. Everything Sucks... good memories!

Still might be the best pop punk album of all time.

Yes, cool sticker and for me the best Descendents album.

Yep, it's easily in my top 3. It came out when I was 14 and shaped my tastes massively. That sticker is an original album promo one from 1996 too!
