Update July 6th

The tracking showed it cleared through customs processing this afternoon and just left the hub. That's a 24hr turnaround in customs which is a lot quicker than I expected considering the nature of the import. Normally it's within a couple of hours for something like a pedal or some parts. Pretty pleased with that.

If past experience with FedEx Priority International is anything to go by then HOPEFULLY this will actually be delivered tomorrow

*Crosses fingers*

Very interesting post - i've just bought a guitar from the Netherlands - it was shipped to the uk almost overnight with UPS but has been sat in the UPS depot for 2 weeks now - the tracking simply says " UPS is holding the cargo at a secure facility , pending instructions and agreement - managed to speak to UPS yesterday and they say its "customs checks" - still have no idea when it will turn up!!

Did you have all the paperwork in order before it shipped?

Ah, yeah they might have pulled it to one side then. Might be worth a call, they've normally been pretty good on the phone with me before

Update July 7th 2021

Image

End of saga.

Looks like it took basically a full calendar month (June 8th-July 7th), an extra £73 in CITES fees and a bit of headscratching. Not too bad.
