Just some pron - 1967 Lafayette 99-9107WX...

Sheltering from the heat, dodging a bit of work I'm supposed to be doing & browsing guitars brought me to this beauty...

It’s got a Jazz Bass vibe. I wish Leo had built an offset Strat type guitar in ‘64-66 with this body shape or using it instead of using the Jazzmaster body shape for the XII. Or even the Mustang. I’d probably play a Mustang if it had this shape.

OMFG! What a beauty. My first guitar ever was a $29 Lafayette guitar when I was about 14 or 15. It was so cool at the time, but also mostly unplayable because I knew absolutely nothing about setting up a guitar. Thanks for the pics and memories.

I had one of these under the "Zen-On" name.

Positives:

Looks awesome
Sounds great

Negatives:

Everything else.
Played like ass. The neck would be too thick for Hendrix to get his hands around.
Shit frets.
Cheap EVERYTHING:

The above refers to the one that I owned.

I like the rocker switches, as I get older I start forgetting what everything does. ;D

Love it! :-*

Especially the "Solo" switch...hit that and it's time to bring the heat! 8)
