MAVERICK decal font - what is it?

Post by JVG » Sun Mar 28, 2021 2:56 pm

Hi folks,

A slightly obscure one....

I’m hoping someone can definitively tell me the name of the font used for the MAVERICK.
I’ve looked through many lists of 50s and 60s fonts, and have found quite a few that are similar, but none the same.

It is possible that Fender had this font created specifically for them, but would they have bothered?

Cheers.

My guess is that it's been designed specifically for the guitar, rather than being a "stock" font.

It doesn't show up in any of the usual "Find-A-Font" search engines anyway.

I did wonder about that, but most (maybe all?) other Fender fonds seem pretty standard, so I figured this might be as well.

Might have to attempt duplicating it myself, if i can find a good enough picture.

The one I used in SquirrelFont was a reasonable quality version...

I'm happy to tweak it & turn it into a Vector graphic, if it'd help.

That looks pretty darn close.

If you wouldn’t mind turning it into a vector graphic, that would be most awesome!

Cheers :)

Not a problem! Here's a WeTransfer link to a PDF version... https://tinyurl.com/snwnh8v5

Let me know if you need any other file formats :)
