The 62 and the 59 were stolen, maybe that 65 as well. I can't believe no dinosaur gear has been found. The sunburst Jazzmaster was at EMP in Seattle when I was there 6 years ago or so. I wonder why J gave up his main guitar.

I love how they're labeled "Fender Jaguars" in the photo caption. :fp:

How long ago were the guitars stolen?

I ask because J's 59 (one of them - dude could have multiples I suppose) was meant to be the basis for Tim Brennan and Mick Brierly's experiments in what ended up becoming Mick's (very good) Jazzmaster pickups.

It's a shame to thing that the actual guitar is no longer out there with it's owner.

I think they were stolen in like 2007 or something like that? It was when the original lineup reunited.

J also lost gear in a house fire.

Oof. Bloke didn't have good run gear-wise for a minute there. Bugger.

Shockingly, Maximum Guitar Magazine has not survived to this day.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Love the name of the store where he bought his first JM .. Slimy Bob's Guitar Rip-Off (in Connecticut).

There was recent Fender Live Skype interview with J where he show's a few of his guitars, including the 50s sparkle Telecaster from the photos.

The article also mixes up the Esquire and the Tele. They say Photo 4 is the Tele, and Photo 5 is the Esquire, but it's the opposite.
