There's an jangly unplugged sound to this Jaguar, and the sound translates into the pickups thanks to physics. introduced in '62, the Jaguar has a wide range of tones available to the player, while living up to its reputation of being not as well-received as the Tele and able to deliver normal Fender cleans like this particular model was designed to do.

Another eyebrow-raising price coming out of Brooklyn. Seems like the current practice is to raise the price by 10-20% for every new (old) vintage offset that these shops manage to source. Sometime soon this must all come crashing down, mustn't it?

Ugh, saw this one the other day on Reverb. I'm at the point where I don't even want to bother swinging by any of the shops these days. What a bummer.

I remember passing on one being sold locally for $1500cdn about 10-12 years ago.. then again if I'd have bought $1500 Bitcoin 10 years ago, I'd own all the beans..

I have a friend who works for one of the bigger vintage shops here and they've sourced a couple of Travis Beans recently...it makes me cringe every time I see one go up for sale. I think the last one I saw was listed at like ~$13k. Never really had my eyes on one besides the couples times I saw Yannis from Foals play one, and even back then they felt like they were slim pickins.

Some married friends of mine have his 'n' hers matching TB1000/2000s and I remember them telling me they picked them up for about £1500-2000 each about a decade ago. I'm pretty sure they're the only guitars they own too. Just 100% committed to being one-guitar people.

I had to sell a '65 Mustang at the start of the pandemic before prices went nuts - based on casually browsing Reverb for a replacement Mustang, I think it's safe to say that's the last '60s Fender I'll ever own.

Oh, they're just the most wonderful couple too. Both very gentle personalities and warming to be around. Then they unleash a barrage of blistering doom I'm always happy to see them

To answer the thread question I’d say you could wait until the world goes into a large recession which may be around the corner.

That Jazzmaster sold for 9k just recently out of a Guitar Center in the Detroit area. I have a couple of photos of that same guitar. I thought 9k is ridiculous when I saw it. Had a feeling it would resurface soon.
