Another terrible ''Relic'' job.

The blurb is concerning too ''Enough to get you noticed wherever you play!'' :fp:

Also I like Hendrix but usually it's a major red flag if someone mentions it in context of selling / buying guitars.
Oh shit man please no. That is so simple, but one of the WORST i believe.
Belt sander here...and here... and... yup, looks REAL REALISTIC. cool.

:fp:
The guitars I personally relic'd at least started out as somewhat shiny and then I dropped something or banged it into something and decided to take it further.

My Honda Acadia Green (I think that's the color) hardtail Strat build:

My purple Tele (that started with me dropping my screwdriver bits RIGHT ON THE FACE OF THE BODY:

It's almost as if people don't comprehend that a truly worn instrument isn't one spot that's just beaten to death. It's dings, dents, banging the headstock against the fridge when you're getting a drink, the guitar falling over when it's drunkenly leaned against the amp, pick scrapes from all the downpicking of Weezer's Green Album, smacking your singer in the back of the head like Funeral For a Friend, the lighting truss that fell on Dan Steinhardt's Red and took out a chunk, etc. It's little things here and there that add up. Sometimes it's in clusters, sometimes it's one spot where your arm rubs or your pick hits, but none of these terrible relic'ers seem to actually hold the guitar and see where the wear and damage may organically happen.

Yall are dead wrong on this one. Frankly, I like it.

Here’s the thing: It isn’t pretending to be a 50-year-old road-worn-gigged-to-death guitar. It’s glossy and smooth everywhere; there’s no bare wood. Think of it in comparison with any guitar that doesn’t have the same finish on the arm cutaway and the top. Example: https://media.sweetwater.com/m/products ... 67f9a99399

I’m not saying it’s perfect, and you don’t HAVE to like it. But I honestly would not call it a relic, and think it’s interesting enough to stand on its own.

These two have been discussed here in OSG some years ago separately. Funny to see that no one refinished them in all that time and that they ended up in the same shop!

Agreed. If it was something like this:

I'd be all over that Jaguar.

Even moreso if it were something like this:

But to be blunt, they're doing it wrong. Not just not-putting-jaguar-print-on-a-Jaguar, but doing a Jaguar and Jazzmaster with different patterns. They should be doing a Jaguar and a Bass VI, or a Jazzmaster and a Jazz bass, or a Strat and a Precision Bass. If nothing else, they could have sold a Jaguar/VI set to whoever currently has the Archie movie rights for a Josie and the Pussycats reboot!

NGL, I had a nosy on their Insta to see how much they wanted for the Jag. Sadly not for sale - part of the store collection.

Daaaang,

Alas all the "after" pics are gone. Sad.

Also alas that you don't have it any more. I still need someone to help me by measuring their Bass VI Mute plate!

But yes, a Bass DCLXVI and a Hastuar could have been a cool combo too. :D
