Bass VI Headstock

Post by ROC127 » Tue May 14, 2024 9:35 pm

Does anyone know if the Bass VI has a unique headstock? I realize it pre-dates CBS headstocks but it looks a lot like a CBS Strat headstock to me. Thank you for any information.

Pre-CBS Jags also have large headstocks, so nothing surprising here...

Yes a bass VI has a unique headstock shape. Similar to a Jaguar, although it was made larger as it was used on a bass instrument. The CBS shape is a little fatter/rounder with a larger "ball" on the headstock. The differences are subtle enough that most people wouldnt notice though
